Pocket CowCard TrashBot Program

Pocket Cowcard has a pen validation dialog that works well when only a few cows are out of pen and there is time to fix them. Occasionally though, keeping to a schedule may require a user to click “Don't ask me again” and focus on the task at hand. Even if the cowside pen validation dialog is not used, cows that are out of pen can often be identified by looking at when they were scanned compared to the cows before and after them. One way to do this is with the Enter\W command which use the scan time item. Since there is only a single scan time item in DairyComp per cow, Enter\W works best if run early and often, it may not work well if multiple days or multiple PCC units are posted between Enter\W commands. Fortunately, all of the scan data is available outside of DairyComp in the C:\DcC305\Axim folder where it is segrated by PCC unit and date. The following tool lets you browse that data and make pen corrections based on a before and after cows algorithm.

  1. Click on the following link http://www.vas.com/TBOT.jnlp
  2. Select the begin date by clicking leftmost button for the date picker.
  3. Select the end date by clicking the middle button for the date picker
  4. Make sure DairyComp is logged in to your cowfile, if you are multi-herd, make sure it is the cowfile of interest. (TBot needs DC for current pens)
  5. Click the right most button labeled search.
  6. Choose a PCC pane
  7. To identify a cow hover the mouse over the symbol
  8. To Zoom in right click and drag from upper left to lower right, to restore right click and drag from lower right to upper left.
  9. The Red cows are cows that are out of pen when compare to their neighbors, click the “Fix Pen for Red Cows” buttton to post pen changes to DairyComp.
