A customer recently complained that their vet list had disappeared from the handheld while in the middle of a vet check when the handheld powered down. An exam of the file contents showed that there were scans in the period of interest but no Vet List. A search of the archive folder C:\DC305\Axim on the DairyComp host computer showed no sign of the missing file.
As a last resort, the closest Valley Ag staff member went to the dairy, place the SD card in a USB drive, and ran the command Chkdsk K: /r
This created a directory called FOUND.000 with files like FILE0000.CHK. These were examined by programming, and the vet check data was found. To repost it, the random binary data at the end was purged and file was renamed to ZVList.PST for reposting on the handheld.
